Horse Meadow Senior Center and Bertha's Room Addition, Haverhill NH

Construction of the 10,000 sf Horse Meadow Senior Center allowed the local senior citizens’ council to bring all of its functions under one roof and better serve residents of central Grafton County. A high clerestory hall leading in from the port-cochère organizes the complex: administrative offices, dining room with shuffleboard, and kitchen are on one side; library, computer lab, and activity spaces are on the other.

In 2014 the GCSCC was able to obtain grant funding and donations of materials and labor for "Bertha's Room," a 1350sf activity room.  I worked with the director and building committee to develop a design and coordinate with the structural engineer.  The room was dedicated in September 2016, named after a long-time volunteer.

Project involvement: Original building:  Barbara Mehren Freeman: Architect of Record, Principal in Charge responsible for design. Pamela Hanson: design development through construction administration team while with Mehren Freeman Architects.  Bertha's Room:  Pamela Hanson: design development and consulting.
