Josiah Bartlett Elementary School, Bartlett NH

Located in the heart of the Mt. Washington Valley, Josiah Bartlett Elementary School serves grades K-8. In 1990 a 35,000 sf project of additions and renovations was undertaken. Between the existing classroom wing and the 1980’s multipurpose room stood the historic white clapboard library shared by the town and school. Due to its age and condition, restoration was not feasible. Instead, the library was recreated with new construction. Behind the library a two-story classroom wing was added and a new cafeteria allowed the multipurpose room to return to its original function as a gymnasium.
