Building on Hope-Opportunity Networks, Amherst NH
Building on Hope is a volunteer collaboration among community members, builders, architects, designers and suppliers. Every other year BoH takes on a project to provide physical improvements to facilities associated with nonprofit service groups. In 2014 the group’s biggest project yet -- a $300,000 renovation of Opportunity Networks’ facility in Amherst was completed.
Opportunity Networks is a nonprofit serving young adults and adults with acquired and development disabilities in southern New Hampshire. The ON facility is a haven for these people to find work, training, meaning and friendships in their lives.
I was privileged to participate as the designer for three administrative offices, and as a solicitor of materials and labor to complete their fit-up.
