Herrick Cove Beach Cabana, New London NH
A small existing structure on the edge of Lake Sunapee served prior owners as a pump house, drawing water from the lake to a storage tank farther inland. The new owners wanted to preserve the structure, with its close proximity to the shore and their boat dock. It was raised on a new foundation, resided and reroofed, and a kitchen and bath were installed. Large windows hinging upward on the far side allow drinks and refreshments to be served from the cabana to swimmers and boaters. The cabana echos the style of the main residence.
