Mountain Getaway, Newbury, NH
Situated on a large tract of land, with abundant wildlife, near Lake Sunapee, this vacation home was partially finished when the owners purchased it. Complete renovations included the basement rec room and the detached garage exchanging places, demolishing a breezeway and rebuilding it to connect the main house and the new rec room, reworking floor plans at all three levels to create a better flow and increase light, adding a screened porch and larger deck, and relocating or adding baths on all floors.
Project involvement: The owners began with ideas from an “in-family architect.” I measured the existing house and developed the design for them, and their builder also had input.
